Customer Review: Very Good
It is working perfect. It is able to charge 4 empty batteries to full in 5 hrs, I have checked. The indicator shows whether the batteries are full or not. Its better than what I had expected.
Customer Review: Excellent charger
The charger works quickly--it charges 4 batteries in 2 hours or so. The charger is compact and light. The batteries last a long time--for 500 shots or more--in a Cannon 2S IS camera.

Customer Review: Boxie Black Onyx Camera Case Review
This case was advertised to be used with my camera, which is the Panasonic Lumix DMZ TZ5 camera. My camera barely fit in the case, with the sides bulging on the case when zipped shut. Although the quality of this case is good, it is entirely too small for the Panasonic Lumix DMZ TZ5 and shouldn't be advertised as a case to fit this camera.
Customer Review: Exactly What I expected!
I received exactly the item that was listed! This, by far, was my best experience with a clear, concise, precise listing on Amazon. I love the hard-shell. I have no concerns about my camera being damaged. Also, there is a clip on the outside that I wasn't even aware of that very easily and securely attaches to my backpack. I'll be able to have easy access to my camera without all the fumbling around. A nice surprise was a small drawstring bag that all of the chord accessaries fit right into. Again, this bag will easily sit in a side pouch of any bag allowing the user easy access to their camera. There is a pouch inside the case to hold another card for the camera or even an extra battery. I LOVE IT! Only negative is that the camera is a little bit loose in the case. This was easily solved for me by putting a little cloth material inside as well. I would highly recommend this case for everyone, especially anyone that plans on doing any traveling. Easy access to my camera and the needed accessaries for the camera is my favorite part.

Customer Review: Great Little Camera
I bought the Cannon Powershot a570is 7.1MB with a 4 Optical Image Stabilized Zoom for my granddaughter without seeing one myself. I had it shipped directly to her in TX. She did not know so it quite a surprise when she it arrived. She is very happy with it and has taken hundreds of pictures in just over a month. In addition, I purchased the Cannon Powershot A Series Accessory Kit which she is also very happy with. She loves the camera and accessory kit. We both would recommend these to anyone looking for an inexpensive, easy to use, and not cumbersome digital camera that takes great pictures.

Even expand your creative possibilities with wide-angle and telephoto converter lenses.
Customer Review: Last of the "A" series with manual controls
The Canon "A" series have always been rather unique. They are cameras that are economically priced, yet offer capabilities and features that you usually only see on more expensive cameras. Unfortunately, it looks like the A-720is might be the last of the Canon "A" models with full manual control; the newer A-1000 and A-2000 have only Program AE and Auto (plus some scene modes). The A-720is has three exposure modes that the A-1000 and A-2000 don't offer: Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and full Manual, plus the A-720 has Manual Focus control, which has been dropped on the newer "A" series models. Some people might ask, are these manual modes necessary in a compact? I say "yes", because every so often, anyone can get into a photographic situation where you won't be able to "get the shot" with the full-automatic modes. These situations usually involve low-light or poor contrast conditions, for example shooting landscapes at dusk or dawn, or on foggy days. Cameras like the Canon "A" series use "contrast detection" to decide when focus is properly set, and if the scene doesn't have much contrast, the camera's auto-focus will "hunt" excessively and may be unable to find the proper focus at all. When this happens, you can set the camera to manual focus and get the shot, assuming your camera has this capability. As for manual exposure modes, you need Aperture Priority to set specific depth-of-field. For example, in shots where the foreground subject is 4 feet away, and the background is at infinity, you want to use the smallest aperture possible (f8 on most Canon "A" models), so that everything in the frame will be sharply focused. In situations where your subject is in motion, you will often want to control shutter speed - fast for sports and action shots, or perhaps a deliberately slow shutter speed to capture the look of flowing water with motion blur. The Canon A-720is lets you handle any of these situations; the new A-1000 and A-2000 have only some scene modes with no actual manual control. What's good about the A-720is: 1. Very good value at it's price point. I paid $190 for mine. For this price you get an 8 megapixel sensor, 6x zoom lens, optical image stabilization, full manual controls, 2.5" LCD screen (115,000 pixels), and an optical viewfinder. This last is handy for when your batteries are getting low - you can turn off the LCD and still take pictures with the viewfinder. 2. Excellent image quality. Images are sharp, exposure is generally pretty accurate, and color saturation very nice. Of course this isn't a digital SLR, so don't expect miracles, but for a camera small enough to stick in a shirt pocket, the photos are remarkably good. 3. Optical Image Stabilization. Most cameras have this now, so it's not really remarkable. 4. Uses "AA" batteries instead of a lithium pack. This is actually the defining feature of the Canon "A" series - they all are "AA" battery powered. I prefer this as you can get "AA"'s anywhere. Unfortunately, the A-700 series began the current Canon trend of downsizing from four batteries (in the A-600 cameras), to only two. This has caused a noticeable increase in flash recharge time, plus of course the A-720is itself needs battery changes more often than it would if it used four batteries. However, I don't mean to imply that the A-720is is "slow". It's power-up speed, shutter-lag time, and time to first shot are all pretty good, and are at least equal to the average for other cameras of this class and price point. 5. Very simple, yet powerful, control layout and menus. This camera has only a few buttons on it, and the menu is as simple and user friendly as it could be. This camera would not intimidate an older person unfamiliar with modern electronic gadgets. Even with it's paucity of buttons, it still manages to have full manual controls. A really nice feature is the ability to program the direct print button to another function, most useful is probably to change ISO speed. 6. 640 x 480 x 30 frames-per-second video. This is pretty much standard on cameras in this class, so not really a special feature. Like all compact still cameras, the quality of the sound captured during video shooting is horrible - if you want good sound, get a real video camera - but the video image quality is pretty good. Video is stored in the standard MJPEG format. 7. Uses standard, cheap, easy to find SD and SDHC memory cards. You can put an 8 gig SDHC card in this camera for about $20 and it will capture 2888 stills at max image size and best quality, or about 70 minutes of video clips. What's bad about the A-720is: There's not much to dislike here. There are a few features that it doesn't have: 1. No flash mounting shoe, although this is such a small camera that sticking a flash gun on top of it would make it so top-heavy it would be hard to control. 2. No RAW capture capability. This has always been one feature that Canon uses to separates the "A" series from the more expensive "G" series. I guess if you are a serious photographer, shooting subjects that would benefit from using RAW format, you're probably going to use a digital SLR rather than a sub-$200 compact. 3. Occasional exposure and auto-focusing errors. However, this A-720is seems to perform rather better than my old A-620 did, making fewer mistakes. Again, you shouldn't expect DSLR performance from a $200 compact, but that said, I'd guess that at least 95% of all shots that you might take in average lighting conditions, will be error-free. In poor lighting, if the camera can't manage in full Auto pr Program mode, go to manual control and you can probably get a useable shot. 4. Unrealistic ISO speeds. I have never yet seen a $200 digital camera that can get nice looking photos at ISO speeds above 200, maybe 400 in a pinch. The A-720is offers ISO 800 and even ISO 1600. At these settings, the CCD gain has been boosted so much that electronic noise in the image gets really noticeable. The only time I would use these speeds is in a really dark indoor shooting situation where you can't get close enough to the subject for the camera's flash to light it sufficiently. For example at a birthday party where you have only this one opportunity to "get the shot" of your kid blowing out the candles on the cake, using high ISO speeds will get you that once-in-a-lifetime shot, but don't expect to be able to make larger than a 4" x 6" print. High ISO shots from these compact cameras will probably be too "noisy" to make decent 8 x 10 enlargements. If you often need to shoot subjects like this, get a DSLR with a CMOS sensor - some of those cameras can shoot at ISO 1600 with no more noise than at ISO 100. 5. The tripod socket is plastic, and is placed way over on the outside edge of the camera's bottom plate - about the worst placement of a tripod socket I've ever seen, but the camera is so small and light that this shouldn't be too much of a problem in most tripod situations. If you needed to orient the camera on a tripod looking vertically downward, the offset tripod socket could potentially be a real problem. In that case, I'd probably try to secure the side of the camera opposite to the tripod socket to the tripod plate with a large rubber band, rather than clamping down really tight on those plastic threads. A big rubber band would be somewhat inelegant, but better that than risk dropping the camera or stripping the tripod socket threads by tightening down too much. In my opinion, there are two primary reasons to buy a Canon "A" or "SD" series camera: 1) You absolutely have to have a shirt-pocket size camera and nothing larger will do. And you want a camera that has reasonably good image quality at an economy price. 2) You are buying an "expendable" camera that can be used in an waterproof housing for scuba diving or snorkeling. The Canon "WP-DC" underwater housings are economically priced, and you can generally get maybe 100 dives out of one before the o-rings are shot and the housing fails. Any underwater photographer will tell you that NO camera housing is 100% fail-safe. All scuba divers that carry cameras will sooner or later suffer a housing failure, which of course is the end of that camera. The Canon "A" and "SD" cameras with a "WP-DC" housing offer scuba photography up to 130' depth for as little as $350, compared to the thousands of dollars you would risk on a DSLR camera body and lens in an underwater housing. And the image quality from these little cameras is amazing, especially if you use an underwater flash gun like the SeaLife SL-960D. If your photographic needs don't fall into either of the two categories stated above, but you are not quite ready to step up to a full DSLR, I'd suggest you look at one of the newer generation of Ultra-Zoom "performance compact" cameras from Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Nikon, and Olympus. Canon's version is the SX10is. Panasonic's is the DMC-FZ28, a camera that is being very highly rated for performance and value, and that has WAY more capability than any compact like the A-720is, for only about $50 more. CONCLUSION: If you can still find a new one, I'd recommend this camera over an A-2000 or any of the Canon "SD" models (none of the SD's have manual controls, and all of them use proprietary lithium batteries). If you can't find a new A-720is at a reasonable price ($200 or less), and you can live without manual controls, the A-2000is would be my second choice. It's primary image sensor has two-megapixels more resolution than the A-720is (10 vs 8), and a much better LCD screen with double the resolution. The A-2000 has the same 6x lens and is nearly identical in size and weight to the A-720is, and probably has about equal image quality. NOTE: Canon does not currently offer a WP-DC underwater housing for either the A-1000 or A-2000, but they might in the near future. Canon's web page for underwater housings is at: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=StandardDisplayAct&fcategoryid=113&keycode=underwater_photo I give the A-720is a "highly recommended" rating for quality and value. I just wish Canon was still making it, or that the A-2000is had all of the A-720is's features and controls.
Customer Review: Good Camera. Slow response time.
Excellent camera with good zoom for the price. Only complaint I have is that it takes somewhat longer for it to be ready for a second photo

Customer Review: Problems with my Canon A640
I am not an expert in cameras for a sophisticated review. I just report two problems with my A640 after a couple years of very light use. The camera is now dead -- not responding to on/off after my recent battery change. The Wolf Camera service wants 130 flat rate for fixing the problem, for I am out of warranty. On several occasions my photos have been spoiled by an easily movable round selector on the top of the camera (portrait, far objects, etc). Overall, I would never buy it again.
Customer Review: Canon A640 is a Great Camera
I have had this camera for almost two years and I still love it. It allows me to take great high quality pictures and video. The level of detail in the photos is fantastic. I've posted pictures online from our trips and adventures and people are surprised to find out that it is a point and shoot and not a dslr. The videos come out great too and the sound is fantastic. Other cameras out there have terrible sound with the video, but that's not the case with the Canon 640. I also love that this camera is versatile. You can add a lens for various shots like telephoto or wide angle with the adapter. Most cameras being sold now, Canon included, do not offer that feature. I have taken underwater video with the camera (and the underwater casing) - a pool party, lazy river ride, or water slides and they come out great. Many people have come up to me on vacations asking me about the camera and cost explaining that they couldn't do the things I was able to do with this Canon. The dimensions on the pictures I take are 3648 x 2736 and the videos are 640 x 480 at 30 fps. There is a 320 at 15 fps, but I never use that setting. I take it everywhere I go. It's rugged and I even dropped it from almost 5 feet to a concrete floor and it still worked (whew!). I was surprised how many pictures and video you can take on one set of batteries. I basically use 8GB and 16GB cards. Since I kept the camera in my pocket all the time with the LCD screen exposed, the screen did get scratched up with all the loose change and other items in my pocket. I wound up getting the screen protector for this and my hd video camera. The screen didn't crack on me like what happened to another reviewer and I've been pretty rough with the camera. Only negatives about the camera: 1. you can only take 9:30 minutes of video at a time before it approaches a stop point regardless of the memory card size you are using and how much space is left on the card. To be clear, you can shoot lots of clips, like 3 minutes at a time and have an hour total of video (or more) on your card. I would prefer that it keep recording until you run out of memory or the battery dies. A regular video camera will record until it reaches the end of the tape or it runs out of battery life. A couple of weeks ago, I had 10GB of video on the card with another Gig of photos on the same card using the same set of batteries the whole day (10 am till 8 pm). I have been lucky and got over 11 minutes of video on one shot. 2. The camera does not have Image Stabilization. I was surprised to read any negative feedback on this camera until I saw further that the reviews were based on one person unable to put the batteries in the camera (please!, you can do it with one hand) transit time in shipping, and another person basing it on a fradulent seller.

Customer Review: Great buy
Bought this for our 14 year old daughter as a Christmas gift. Easy to use. Really great pictures. Got a great price.
Customer Review: The Best Cheap Travel Camera
I have already posted some photos on Flickr and have received some pretty positive reviews. Why I like the camera for travel because: 1. It uses AA batteries, I use rechargables. 2. The camera has a view finder which is very helpful when you are outside with the sun behind you. 3. Technology is very advanced. Does a great job finding faces and managing focus. 4. Tripod mount. 5. And I think the best price on the market for the technology and megs (10mps). 6. It's easy moving the photos to the computer.

Kit includes:
 1) LensPen MiniPro II Lens Cleaner
 2) Precision Design 6-Piece Deluxe Cleaning Kit

The LensPen MiniPro II Lens Cleaner is the simple and effective way to clean your optics when they get dirty out in the field before the dust, dust, and grime begin to build up, becoming more and more difficult to remove. The LensPen is simple to use: 1) Slide out the retractable brush, using it to remove any dust particles; 2) Remove the end cap to expose the cleaning pad; 3) Using a smooth, circular motion, wipe the lens surface with the unique flexible cleaning pad. If any smudges remain, just breathe gently on the lens and repeat the cleaning process. The unique cleaning compound will not spill or dry out and is both environmentally-friendly and non-toxic.

The Precision Design 6-Piece Deluxe Cleaning Kit includes what you need to keep your equipment sparkling clean. The environmentally-friendly Hurricane Air Blower is a real dust-blaster. It's nothing like those tiny blower brushes which are capable of producing only a gentle breath of air. When you squeeze this deluxe Air Blower you get a focused gust of air that really pushes the dust off. Using the blower should always be the first step in cleaning your photo equipment. The soft, natural-hair Cleaning Brush helps remove any stubborn particles. A Microfiber Lens and LCD Cleaning Cloth is included for convenient in-the-field cleaning. The Lens Cleaning Liquid is used to lightly moisten a sheet of Lens Tissue to remove stubborn fingerprints and environmental pollutants from your lens. The included Cotton Swabs are very useful for caring for the exterior (non-optical) surface of your equipment.

This value-packed LensPen MiniPro II & Precision Design Cleaning Combo Kit is the perfect companion to help you clean your compact digital point-and-shoot camera or mini-camcorder.

Customer Review: Great little case
I was wanting a small case that could easily fit in my purse, but was colorful as well - and I found it here. It's a soft case and doesn't have a ton of padding, but it definitely does it's job of protecting the screen from scratches. I got the green case, and while it's called "neon," it's more of a light lime green - so don't worry about it being super blinding.

Canon PowerShot SD870IS 8MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black)

From the very first glance, the smooth shape and bold lines of the stylish PowerShot SD870 IS Digital ELPH signal that this is no ordinary camera. With 8.0 megapixels of resolution, an Optical Image Stabilizer and 3.8x optical zooming, the SD870 IS Digital ELPH boasts impressive specs as well as a host of convenient features. Face Detection Technology for worry-free people shots. A large 3.0-inch LCD to give you a perfect view of your scene. The Auto ISO Shift and ISO 1600 deliver brilliant images in challenging lighting.
Customer Review: Canon SD870IS is all it was touted to be
I did extensive research on "point-and-shoot" digital cameras before making a decision and have not been disappointed with my purchase of the Canon SD870IS. It's always challenging when doing product research online to separate what is important to you from the "expert" reviews (they complain about little things I would never notice and get excited about things - like color choices - which are meaningless to me.) And individuals' reviews are sometimes too simplistic and lacking substance or so extreme you wonder if they are biased for some reason other than the product itself. So I will try to keep it simple and factual ... Size and weight of the camera are great ... will easily fit in most shirt pockets. Have not had to recharge the battery yet after taking somewhere around 250 photos, most with flashes. Photo quality is good and image stabilization does help - but you still need to try to hold it still. I was very impressed with the quality of the video it shot (though this was unimportant in my purchasing decision) - nice to have! Powers up and is ready to shoot quickly and can take multiple pictures fairly fast for a digital. Quality and viewability of digital viewfinder is good, even in bright sunlight - surprisingly, I am not missing an optical viewfinder. Very reasonably priced - only $240 in Dec 08. I would highly recommend this camera to the "average Joe" like myself who wanted a good quality camera but didn't want to spend a lot. Enjoy!
Customer Review: great camera
I really like this camera, it is compact , takes great pictures and i love the big screen and image stabilization features. I do find the manual is not as easy to follow as I would like & why does it only come with a test memory card?

Customer Review: Good set, Good price

Canon Powershot Leather Neckstrap for S3 IS, S2 IS & S1 IS Digital Cameras

This durable neck strap is made of black leather and features the Canon logo in relief. The strap is lightly padded and with wide tapered ends for maximum comfort while supporting the camera's full weight. It's designed for Pro 1, S1 IS, S2 IS, G series Canon models.
Customer Review: Great camera strap!
I really like how comfortable and secure this strap feels around my neck. I also recommend anyone who gets the Canon PowerShot Pro Series S3 IS 6MP with 12x Image Stabilized Zoom get the camera case to protect and store their camera in.
Customer Review: Very comfortable
I had a moment of angst while attaching this strap: Would I look pretentious carrying a point and shoot camera around on a thick leather strap that looks like it was made for a professional grade DSLR? Well, this concern quickly evaporated when I actually started carrying the camera. The strap, apart from being beautifully made, is considerably more comfortable than the one that came with my S3 IS. Tucking such a big strap into a reasonably-sized camera bag can be a bit vexing, but if you like to keep your camera out and ready for action, this strap is definitely the way to go.

Customer Review: Great little camera
This is a very nice camera for the price. Has a lot of features that more expensive cameras have. Takes very nice pictures. Highly Reccomended.
Customer Review: Good in performance. Excellent for price.
This has all the basic features and its working perfectly well. I have used it and the picture quality is very good. Considering the cost, its an excellent product. Only problem, the same that I have read in the reviews while buying the product, is that it takes some times for the flash to load after taking a picture, say about 4 seconds. If you dont think this is a problem for you, this camera is the best.

Customer Review: My new favourite thing....
I bought this cool little blue camera for myself for Christmas. I've been using the Canon PowerShot SD400 Elph 5mp 3x Zoom for the past few years and have really enjoyed it; however, this new camera blows it out of the water! Besides falling in love with the look and style of the E1 (it's the most beautiful shade of robin's egg blue I've ever seen), the pictures I've taken are incredible both in detail and clarity. And I'm equally impressed how close you can get to your subject with the zoom. I was going to get one of those Flip camcorders but the Movie Mode on this is perfect for capturing quick clips. The functions are all quite simple to use, you really don't even have to read the manual. It also has an "Easy" mode, excellent for anyone who might be intimidated by cameras. I feel this would be a perfect camera for both ends of the spectrum, from the novice to the more experienced. I'm in love with it! Canon makes wonderful products.
Customer Review: excellent little camera
I've had this camera for a few days, and already I love it. The points that have charmed me so far: 1- very low shutter lag. you can take a picture quickly, and capture exactly the scene you want (not the scene 2 to 5 seconds after you point your camera). 2- takes standard AA rechargeable batteries. also, you can turn off the LCD and use the old school view finder to save battery power in a pinch. 3- the 'print' button is programmable, so you can use it for a variety of other functions (useful to me because I almost never plug my camera directly into a printer). 4- the whole design of the camera is intuitive and easy to use. The only less-than-stellar aspect of this camera is its size. It's not bulky, but there are much tinier cameras in this class on the market. I wasn't quite prepared to remove a star for that, though, as a reduction in size would likely mean an increase in price. I think the trade-off is fine. Overall, I highly recommend this camera for point-and-shoot purposes. It's easily my favorite of the ~5 digital cameras I've owned over the years.

Customer Review: not made by samsonite
I purchased this case for my wife thinking that if it was made by samsonite it must be a nice and tough case. When I received it it was in a plastic bag and not still connected to the cardboard. After looking everywhere for a samsonite name there was none. The case is not made by samsonite it is a cheap plastic case. I guess it would be ok for a camera that stays at home but not a good case for someone who takes their camera on vacation or out to parties. I contacted the seller and they told me they do not sell samsonite cases which I thought was weird because it clearly states "by samsonite"

Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

Whether the action is fast or slow, close up or far away, youll always get the shot you want with thePowerShot SX10 IS. This camera puts you on the cutting edge of advanced technology, with an incrediblypowerful 20x optical zoom, 10-megapixel resolution, and new DIGIC 4 Image Processor for high-performanceface and motion detection.
Customer Review: Farrell's Review
I bought the camera for my wife for christmas and she loves it. Easy to learn and takes top quality pictures.
Customer Review: I LOVE MY NEW SX10IS CAMERA!
I couldn't make up my mind what type of camera I wanted to purchase; an SLR or a point and shoot. I knew what features I wanted, but up until recently I couldn't find a camera fitting all my needs. I decided that for my purposes of taking travel pictures I wanted something easy to use, but an upgrade to my present camera, a Canon PowerShot A610. I really liked the shape of the camera, which is easy to hold with one hand. Then one of the best features was vari-angle LCD. After searching different cameras I was thrilled when I found the SX10IS which had most if not all the features I had been looking for. I wanted at least 18x optical zoom and this has 20x; I definitely wanted the vari-angle LCD for taking pictures either higher or lower than a comfortable viewing level. (It sure saves on backs when wanting to take a close up of a flower and you can turn the viewer up and hold the camera down at arms length to get a great picture). It also has the easy grip like my older camera, however I find there are more buttons that I sometimes push inadvertantly, and get out of the mode that I want to be in. As I get more used to the camera I don't mess up as often. The pictures come out crystal clear and I can zoom in when viewing on my computer and still get great pixel clarity. The finished photos I have had processed have come out close to studio quality. Recently I took portraits of guests at our Christmas party and had rave reviews of the finished product with many ordering additional prints to send to family and friends. Also, I was extremely pleased when taking photos at the Tournament of Roses parade last week. Most electonic gadgets have more features on them then one will ever use, and this camera is no exception. Slowly, I am trying to learn more to take advantage of more features. On the other hand, if you want ease of use then with this camera you can be out taking pictures as soon as you put in your batteries and memory card. Speaking of memory cards, you will want to buy a high speed card to take advantage of the continuous shoot feature. This is great when taking pictures of moving objects. Another feature I haven't mentioned is the great video (with sound) that you can take with this camera. Having a high capacity memory SD card helps. I always carry extra cards, but with my new 8 GB card I won't be using the extra cards very often. Face recognition is another feature I haven't used before. It is an interesting feature and new tool when taking group shots. I could go on and on, there are so many good things I could say about this camera. I really don't have any negatives other than accidentally pushing buttons when I don't want to. As I had read in another review, the controls are "touchy" and you have to be aware of where your "fat fingers" land. I'm a senior citizen who loves to take pictures and have thousands of photos on my computer. I enjoy viewing slide shows of all the pictures of our travels throughout the USA and also abroad. If you want to take a step up from the compact point and shoot then I would highly recommend the Canon PowerShot SX10IS. It has features you will appreciate for taking photos both indoors and out.

A Short Course in Canon PowerShot G2 Photography Book/eBook

This book/eBook package is you guide to getting more interesting and creative photos with your Canon PowerShot G2 digital camera. This cross between a very readable generic camera guide and a photography 101 course discusses every available procedure, command, and photographic technique in a clear, well-illustrated style. It will help you quickly master your camera so you can start getting the kinds of photos you hope for. The book is printed in black & white and has a well-liked spiral binding that lets the book lie flat or be folded back. The accompanying eBook on a CD disc is a full-color version of the same book in Adobe's popular PDF format. It can be read on a PC or Mac using the included Acrobat reader or any current Web browser. The CD also includes trial versions of a number of the author's favorite programs.
Customer Review: Simply, not worth the cost.
This is a very expensive book for something that looks like it was put together in someone's basement. The interior pages look like they were photocopied using a mediocre black and white copier. This obviously doesn't work well when you are trying to show people what their camera can do. I'm used to paying good money for a full color, hardcover book and this book is the complete opposite. Secondly, the book doesn't really go beyond describing and re-describing the camera's functions (all of which are explained in the camera's manual & available on Canon's website). I was hoping it would go into more detail. For example, instead of telling me that I need to turn this lever to this mode to take such a picture, I thought the book would explain why I would want to set the camera in this mode versus this one for a particular kind of picture. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this mode? What other modes might work just as well? Et cetera. The book does not answer these questions. I find the book to be a rehash of the Canon manual with lots of repetition probably used to beef the book up physically versus filling it with quality content. I've had my G2 for about a year now and I think the best way to learn using it is to experiment. Learn about the different settings in the camera's manual and then try them out with flash, without flash, selecting different white balance, manual vs. auto focus. That's the only way you are really going to find out what the amazing G2 can do. And, if you still feel like you need a book to hold your hand through the process try getting a general, less expensive digital camera guide that will go into more detail.
Customer Review: Very good overview, combined with techniques
A very helpful and usable manual. Even tho it's produced rather cheaply (spiral-bound, B&W), it really gives an excellent short course in photography as it relates to the feature-packed PowerShot G2. The manual that comes with the G2 is very well written, but doesn't really go into detail about how to get the pictures you really want, especially under difficult situations. This book definitely fills the gap. The camera was a bit intimidating to me, at first. Now it's not. I probably will print the PDF out in color, however. That's my major gripe.

Customer Review: Great little case!
This case is just as described, a small "wristlet" neoprene case for a small digital point&shoot camera. My Canon PowerShot DS950 elph *just* fits inside this glove-like case. The neoprene fabric is thick and offers decent protection for small-medium knocks. I like this type of wristlet case when i'm on vacation and i pretty much want to keep it as close to my hands as posible for quick spur-of-the-moment shots. This way i can keep it on my wrist without leaving it as vulnerable to the possabilities of a)getting robbed b)knocking it into something when i'm using that hand or c)dropping it if i forget it's on my wrist. When I'm not on vacation it still tends to travel with me more often than not, but then i keep it in a slightly harder case within a large bag for better protection...but for a full day of expected use I prefer to use the convenience of a wrist case.
Customer Review: I like it!
I bought this carring case for my new Canon power shot SD790. It is soft and fit the camera very well. The best thing is that it came with screen protector kit and cloth. I didn't have to buy them seperatly. It worth the price.

See how to set white balance to capture colors the way you see them. Learn how to use lenses creatively when photographing
Customer Review: Great book if your goal is simply to take better pictures
For an amateur photographer who wants to improve photo-taking skills, this book is a great buy. I had originally planned to take a photography course at a local community college, but that didn't work out. This book turned out to be quite a bit cheaper and more effective for me since it is specific to my camera. I have read several other digital photography books, but since they weren't specific to my camera, I found it hard to put those concepts into practice. This book makes it easy to apply digital photography concepts. As many have mentioned, this is a plain 8 1/2 x 11 black & white book. I purchased the book for the content, though, and that is very good. I don't need glossy color pages to make learning easier. Even in the first chapter I learned a lot about my camera that wasn't included in the manual. There are lots of good shortcuts and tips that are not at all obvious or easily understandable from the manual. My picture taking has already improved! This is a great book if your goal is simply to understand your camera better so you can take better pictures.
Customer Review: Not what it seems
This book presents it self as a self teach book, it is just another manual. I recommend not wast int you money.
