I purchased this charger so I could have both one for the road and not have to rely on charging batteries in the camera. We have a lot of power surges in this small town and it's worth having a seperate charger. I have used this one so far to charge both Canon and after market batteries. The charging time is faster then I expected. Both charger and battery stay much cooler then expected when charging. I have another larger charger coming from Amazon soon. This one will go into the camera bag for the summer and see some traveling. Just buy it.

I thought this was a great item! It is really low priced, and it does exactly what I need it to. It works with all my camcorder batteries and allows me to charge while on the road or away from a computer. I recommend this item to anyone who needs to charge batteries while on vacation- you will get more than what you payed for.
